Kyiv's forces have stepped up their aerial bombardment of Russia, as they target fuel depots, airfields and ammunition warehouses.

Ukraine on Sunday said it sent more than 100 drones deep inside Russia to hit a major weapons depot, as it stepped up attacks further inside Russian territory.

Ukraine in the past week has launched a barrage of drone strikes on a Russian ammunition depot in the Tver region. Russia's defence ministry has claimed its forces shot down 101 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory and occupied Crimea during the attacks.

Ukraine's air force said in a statement that air defenses had destroyed 56 of the 87 drones and two missiles over 14 Ukrainian regions, including the capital, Kyiv.

"The enemy is deploying personnel there," said Vladyslav Voloshyn, a spokesperson for Kyiv's forces operating in southeast Ukraine.

During the night of October 5th to 6th, Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine using 87 Shahed drones. Ukrainian defence was highly effective, intercepting most of these unmanned aerial vehicles.

More than 20 missiles, 400 drones, and 800 aerial bombs were reportedly used by Russia in attacks on Ukraine within just a week. Volodymyr Zelenskyy conveyed this information on Sunday. He emphasized once again that effectively fighting Russia is impossible without Western support.
