EAM S Jaishankar on Sunday underlined the declining importance of the United Nations amid the ongoing global conflicts. He likened the UN to an "old company".

Jaishankar said that although the UN continues to exist, it is no longer the sole avenue for countries to collaborate on global problems.

Jaishankar explained that while countries would prefer the UN to lead global initiatives when it fails to address key issues, they are left to create their own mechanisms.
